Busy, Busy, Busy

I have so much to do before the end of the semester. AHH!! This morning I went to speech class and ate breakfast at Whitney afterwards. Then I gathered some of the stuff in my room together and put it into a box. My mom came down this morning and I sent the box of stuff I don't need anymore home with her---that way, when it comes time to move out, I won't have as much stuff.
Next, I am going to go to the language listening lab in Graff Main Hall. I have to do some listening activities on the computer for my Spanish class. It is a pretty interesting program that I use and it really helps me learn Spanish. The same program is available in different languages including French and German.
Then after that, I am going to work on writing my speech that I have to give on Monday. That way, I can practice it a lot over the weekend. My professor is very helpful because she said that I could email her my outline and she would look over it giving me suggestions about things I should change. I really appreciate when professors take the extra time to help students because they actually care about their success.
Tonight, I am going to the bonfire at Coate Hall. It looks like it's going to be a lot of fun! There is going to be food, music, games, and smores of course!
Well, I better get going so I get everything done before the bonfire!!

What a Weekend!!

This weekend was so busy and totally AWESOME!! I did so many fun things.
To start off, Friday night there was supposed to be a bonfire by Coate Hall, but unfortunately, that got postponed until next weekend. So my friends and I decided that we would make cupcakes and puppy chow in the kitchen in the basement (every residence hall has at least one kitchen). We ended up having a great time despite the bonfire being postponed. It was soo much fun! It is amazing how much fun you can have just doing something as simple as cooking with your friends. Then we rented a DVD from the front desk and watched a movie while we enjoyed our treats! : )

On Saturday, I got up and ate breakfast at Whitney. Then the girls from our cube went to the Ropes Course that UW-L has down by Myrick Park. It was sooo cool! There were a few different activities that we could do. My personal favorite was the giant swing. It involves you getting hooked up to a cable and hoisted into the air. Once, you are hoisted all the way up, you have to pull a certain string, and when you do it, you just go flying down the cable and scream your head off---it was such a rush!
Then, later that night, we went to the Sanford Block Party (Sanford is another residence hall). They had live music by five different bands, which were pretty good I might add. There was also a variety of games and free food. It was a pretty good time.
After the Sanford Block Party, we went to the Concordia Ballroom which is just a few blocks from Coate Hall on La Crosse Street. One of my friends was co-hosting a salsa fiesta there. It involved salsa dancing as well as other dances including the tango. It was a lot of fun considering I like ballroom dancing and hanging out with my friends at the same time.

Today, I went to Myrick Park again for a picnic that the Roncalli Catholic Newman Center was hosting. There was free food as well as fun activities to do. Then I came back and did math homework for 3 hours! Afterwards, I relaxed for a while until two of my friends from Platteville got here. They had went home for the weekend and were stopping by on their way back. We went out to dinner at Fayze's downtown. It was really nice just to be able to chat and enjoy the good times with friends over dinner. But needless to say, I didn't get much homework done this weekend. I guess I will just have to make up for it by working extra hard tomorrow.
